Midday Dog Walking
As we know first hand from our extensive Doggy Day Care experience, regular exercise is crucial to a dog's health and happiness, as well as its owner's peace of mind. Exercise helps to lower a dog's stress level and can alleviate some problem behaviors, such as chewing, marking in the house, etc. While many dogs benefit from the social interaction of all-day play at our Best Friends doggy day camps, we know not every dog is a candidate for the high-energy, all day social play that camp involves. That's where dog walking can help. Dog walking provides your dog with an afternoon potty break, a chance to get out and stretch his or her legs, and some meaningful exercise while you're at work or away for the day. Regular dog walking can be especially helpful for those with puppies or older dogs, who need to go outside more often.
Best Friends can customize a dog walking program specific to your dog's exercise needs, and you can relax knowing your dog will be in great hands, getting the attention, love and playtime he deserved. Each 20-30 minute visit occurs between 10am and 4pm. You may specifiy a 2 hour window preference. Pet Sitting
This is a great alternative for pets who just cannot board or may not thrive as well in our boarding facility, especially dogs and cats who may be older, more stressed, or even ill. Also, this is a great option for multi-pet homes that include pets such as birds or fish, who ideally should remain in their home. Our pet sitting alternative allows your pets to stay in the comfort of their own home while you are away, and you can relax knowing that our trained and certified pet care givers will visit your home each day (at least twice a day or more if desired) to care for them.
A standard 30 minute pet sitting visit includes a walk, feeding and fresh water, cleaning the litter box, and administering medications if necessary (non-injectables only). We will also water plants, bring in the mail and newspapers, and feed your fish at no extra charge. These visits occur before 10am and after 4pm. If your pets would benefit from more frequent visits while you're away, a Midday Walk can easily be added.
Overnight Stays may also be arranged, where a member of our staff will spend the night at your home. This service includes an evening Pet Sit (walk, feeding, etc.) with a second potty break before bedtime, and a morning Pet Sit before they leave. Once again, this service is easily supplemented with a Midday Walk should extra attention and/or potty breaks be required.
